Danmark ramt af dræbervirus i dansk Netflix-debut
Nu kan du for første gang nogensinde se en danskproduceret serie på Netflix. Den hedder The Rain og får premiere i foråret 2018. På rollelisten finder du nogle af Danmarks unge og mest lovende skuespiltalenter heriblandt Mikkel Boe Følsggard (Arvingerne, En kongelig affære), Alba August (Gidseltagningen), Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen (Tidsrejsen) og Angela Bundalovic (Blodsøstre).
Handlingen i The Rain udspiller sig i et postapokalyptisk univers, hvor en brutal virus har udslettet det meste af den skandinaviske befolkning. Vi følger et ungt søskendepar, der drager ud i den raserede verden for at finde deres far og undersøge, om der er opbygget et nyt samfund, som de kan slutte sig til. Civilisationen, som vi kender den, er forsvundet i The Rain, men de eksistentielle udfordringer og problemer, som formede os i den ‘gamle verden’, – kærlighed, jalousi, overgangen fra barn til voksen etc. – , eksisterer stadig og er de tematiske omdrejningspunkter i handingen.
The Rain er skabt af Jannik Tai Mosholt (Borgen, Rita, Bedrag), Esben Toft Jacobsen (Den kæmpestore bjørn, Resan till Fjäderkungens Rike) og Christian Potalivo (Dicte, De nye lejere, Lang historie kort). Serien er produceret af Miso Film.
